Frequently Asked Questions
What parts of my body will be massaged?
A discussion with your therapist will determine which parts of your body require massage. A typical full body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders. You will not be touched on or near your genitals (male and female) or breasts (female).
Does massage hurt?
Your therapist will periodically check with you as to the pressure level desired. There is a difference between discomfort when a trigger point is worked on and pain when the muscles tense to protect themselves. Working within your comfort zone achieves the best results, so you decide how much, if any, discomfort you'll experience for a positive outcome!
What can I do to get the most from my massage session?
Make sure you are comfortable. Ask for adjustments to body positioning, massage pressure, room temperature, lighting level, music volume, body draping, etc. to make you feel more relaxed.
Where will my massage session take place?
Your massage session will take place in a warm comfortable, quiet room in our office. Soft music may be played to help you relax.
Must I be completely undressed?
Massages techniques are traditionally performed with the client either unclothed or wearing undergarments; however, you decide what clothing you prefer to wear. I encourage people to dress to their comfort level.
Will the therapist be present when I disrobe?
The therapist will leave the room while you undress, relax on the table, & cover yourself with a clean sheet & blanket. A private dressing area is also provided.
Should I tip the therapist?
If the therapist has provided excellent service, tipping is appropriate.
